Tension bushings are bearing components manufactured in the form of a hollow cylinder with a longitudinal slit along the entire length. Bushings are made from high carbon spring steel and then thru-hardened heat treated to enhance their resilience, strength, and resistance to wear. Bushings are made to a controlled oversized outside diameter and a controlled after insertion, inside diameter. Bushings are chamfered at one or both ends in order to facilitate insertion and removal. VOGELSANG bushings are wear parts for use in dry bearing applications, but they can be lubricated at the discretion of the user.
