Vogelsang Tension Bushings are cost effective bearings, ideal
for high-load/low-speed operations in harsh, non-lubricated
environments. Vogelsang bushings are designed to replace solid
steel (tubular) and case hardened parts.
Vogelsang Tension Bushings are hollow cylinders with a full-length
longitudinal slot. This slot permits compression and expansion.
The bushings have chamfered ends to facilitate insertion and
removal. They are roll formed from high carbon spring steel
material which has high elasticity, resilience, and wear characteristics.
These material qualities are enhanced by thru-hardening in
heat treatment. Vogelsang Tension Bushings are close tolerance
and self-retaining parts. They are manufactured to a controlled,
oversized diameter. This process and the inherent elasticity
of the material provide constant radial tension for tight
fit - even if the bore hole becomes enlarged.
Bushing insertion is easily accomplished either manually
or with an arbor press. Field replacement can be performed
simply with a hammer and drift.
Vogelsang Tension Bushings are stock parts - readily available
for quick shipment.
STOCK OFFERING OF STANDARD BUSHINGS INCLUDES:
- Outside diameter range from 3/4" to 3-1/2"
- Three wall thicknesses: 1/8', 3/16" and 1/4"
- Length range: From 1/2" to 3"
- Material: High carbon spring and/or alloy steel - thru-hardened
and tempered
- Slot Configuration: Vogelsang standard is Straight Slot/TYPE

- Slot Configurations: "V" Slot/TYPE II and Wavy
